Ear Tubes, Part II

Today Luke got his second set of ear tubes. At an appointment a couple of months ago the Dr. assured me that getting two sets was rare, and that only about 10% of people need the second set, but being a redhead, and always in the "rare" percentages, I was pretty sure we'd end up here... {also, quite possibly the saddest picture ever}
Ugh, it is so hard to see your little one like this. He was just waking up, and not in the best mood...
Poor little guy just wanted to be home, and to be watching his Dinosaur "moobie." Is it me, or did he seem much better the first time around? He didn't even want a popsicle today, and if you know Luke, you know that is a very rare event indeed. However, no need to worry, only 10 minutes later he was back to his usual self, wanting apple juice and stickers. By the time we got home he was literally running to the door, ready to play. I love this little guy!

Pony rides, and Haircuts

After some playtime at the mall, including a quick pony ride, Alyssa took Luke to get his haircut {I had ask her if she would mind...}
He was a little tired, as he hadn't yet napped for the day, so he was good, for the most part.
I think next haircut I am going to take him to Lori, who I go to, because is it me, or does this shot remind you of Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber?
and nobody {especially Luke} is perfect, he had to say Hiii YA to the nice lady and try to karate chop the scissors out of her hand...
all and all, it was a success. I managed to get Luke and Zoe's haircut the same day. Zoe's picture coming soon...

Surgery...

Don't worry, it was nothing serious! Luke got ear tubes, and we are so happy he did! He has had approximately eight ear infections since January. Poor little guy! This should eliminate that problem. The surgery was only 5 minutes, and Luke got not one, but two popsicles afterwards. Which pretty much made the whole thing worth it, if you ask him...

Twenty Months

I cannot believe you are twenty months!
Since last month not much has changed. You add more words everyday. You now know a cow says "moo" and a sheep says "baa". You like to "blow your nose" you put a tissue up to your nose, and blow out of your mouth to make the "noise" & You will also point to body parts now! You've known them for awhile, but would refuse to demonstrate your knowledge... Thank goodness you are not stubborn {ha ha}. Everyone you meet has the same things to say about you. First, everyone says how nice and sweet you are {and you are the sweetest most charming little thing} until you hear this one word... no. And then you go crazy. You throw your arms in the air, fling yourself on the ground, and start screaming, all hoping to get your way. You don't, but you still try, bless your soul. Your favorites are still the same, climbing, throwing yourself off things, the park {especially the big slide}, swimming, painting {you really love to paint, even more than you love to draw} and yes, you still must have your hat, shoes, and shades on at least 80% of your day. You are wearing 18-24 month tops and bottoms, 2T one-pieces, and a size 6 shoe. You weigh 27 1/2 lbs and are 33 inches. We love you Luke, happy twenty months buddy!

Beading Cheerios

Is apparently very serious business...
Meagan was working with Luke and Mallory on the letter of the day, "O" and had them beading "O's", which Luke took very seriously as you can see...

Backyard Fun

We had a great day today. We went to the park, we went to the pool, and then we just played in the back yard. Here are a couple of pics. Luke was really enjoying swinging! {Even if his favorite part is trying to buckle and unbuckle himself in}

Whoo hoo!

Splish Splash at the pool!

We went to the pool today and Luke had a blast!

What's this?

Pure excitement!

and entertainment!

This little guy definitely loves the water

Don't you just love summer?

Hipstamatic Prints

One of Troy's favorite apps on the iphone is Hipstamatic. It allows you to take old school looking pictures. Here is one of Luke just hanging out being one of the guys!

1st day of School... Luke is a Turtle!

Too cool for school...

Again, I must apologize for no real camera {iphone saves the day again! What did I do before that thing? I know I was lost a lot more... I digress}... I am {really} going to put batteries on the grocery list. Here are a couple I snapped of Luke and Dad before the first day of school! Luke loves his shades. Upon arriving at school we found out his teachers are going to be Miss Tina and Miss Milley. Miss Milley was Luke's teacher this summer and he absolutely loves her! I am so excited he will be a little turtle in her class. Looking forward to a great year!

Nineteen Months

Our camera is lacking something pretty simple... batteries. But for some reason we cannot remember to pick them up at the store... so this month has been kind of rough for pictures... Here is one of Luke on the big 1-9 months...

So much is happening this month! Luke is really starting to talk! He says "momma" "dada" "dawg" "leelee" {for our cat leah} "nite nite" "hi" "bye" "see ya" "cah"{is still cookie, but his new favorite is...} "shu" {when he first wakes up every morning he wants his baseball hat on backwards, and his shoes, which he starts asking for when you go in his room, it's too cute!} he knows that a lion says "rah" which is pretty stinking cute as well {I know, I know, I think everything is cute right now. I'm a mom okay?!}. We are having a lot of fun with our little man these days. He seems to be saying new things every day and is so excited to learn new words. He also understands what we ask, which is so nice to be able to communicate! He can definitely tell you what he doesn't want to do {or eat}, and will say "yeah" and clap when you get it right. He still loves painting and drawing, and climbing on anything not moving, and gardening, and cleaning {jackpot!!!}. Oh Lukie, we love you so much! Happy 1-9 little guy!

Time Keeps on Slipping Slipping Slipping, Into the Future...

I know it gets repetitive, but I just can't believe how fast time really goes. So I grabbed the camera, and Troy and I snapped a couple pics of our growing Ookie! He is such a smily little guy!

9

is mighty fine

Luke, when did you get so big?!

These days you like to:

  • Pull up and walk around everything. You have stood for a moment or two by yourself, but no walking yet, which is just fine with mommy!
  • Can say "mama" "dada" "bah" and "gah" and Troy and I like to think you know just who we are... even though I am called "dada and bah" almost as much as "mama"
  • Loves to dance and has started singing into his toy microphone, which is too cute.
  • Has started eating three meals a day with bottles for snacks. You still enjoy your baby food, but this month we got to add in cheese, and boy do you love it! Cheese quesadillas seem to be your favorite. Just like mommy and daddy, you love mexican food! You will eat avacados, tortillas, and beans.
  • You love to play peek-a-boo and "read" your books.
  • Absolutely love to flirt, and have taken quite an interest in older women. Whether it's Mallory or Emily, girls definitely make you smile big and giggle, such a lady killer!
  • One thing you are not fond of? The word no. It makes you pout and start to tear up, but it sure is cute.

We love our Lukie! Happy 9 months!

is great

I am really on the move and I like to crawl and pull up on everything! I love to babble and sing, and I'm really happy most all of the time. I'm just now starting to eat little hot dogs, waffles, bread, and little bits of whatever mom and dad are eating along with all my fruits and veggies. I really want to walk, but I'm not there yet. Watch out mom and dad!
