Beautiful Winter Day

The weather has just been so beautiful lately! We loaded Luke up after work and took him to the park. He stopped playing for a moment to enjoy some apples, and then promptly went back to playing.

Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo 2012

We struck gold this weekend... Haley ask us to go to the Rodeo, and not just "go to the rodeo" but to go totally VIP style. She had scored box seats, so we were literally right there in front where all the action takes place. And not only did we have a blast, but Haley actually took pictures to capture our great day! Here are Luke and I watching the cowboys. He was trying to get down there with them. He would say, "Go Cowboys!" and when a horse got really close and kicked dirt on him he said "Awesome" followed by, "Whoo, that was a close call!" It was definitely a day to remember.

Love that hair!

Eating some popcorn

And then after the rodeo, it was time to ride the rides! Mom and Luke on the Tea Cup ride.

Luke was clapping for himself after he won a snake

and here is another of my favorite shots {tied with the first picture}

Not only did Luke not want to ride in the Jeep with Asher {Wyatt Claire's brother}, he wanted to ride in the pink car with Wyatt Claire, and in the back seat! HA! He totally let Wyatt Claire drive him around. I loved it, so stinking cute! It was a really great day. I hope you enjoyed the pictures.

Van Grow Art Studios {Luke's BDAY Party}

And you know what that means... It's my party, and yes, he will cry if he wants to. I am not sure what kind of damage I have done to this child, but so far he hates Santa, Christmas, and his Birthday. Which could mean that we save a lot of money on presents... I guess that is the bright side. Here is Luke when they started singing 'Happy Birthday'

Here is Luke telling everyone to STOP SINGING!
but when the song was over, he seemed to be okay... and ready for a juice box, because, yes, my child does not eat cake or cookies at birthday parties {which means he can't possibly be my child} It's a good thing he is the spitting image of me, or I really would question if he was switched at the hospital.
Cole, on the other hand, was pretty chillaxed at the party
Until I tried to take this picture... here he is with Dad, and Emily and her sweet baby, Mollie Kate.
Here we have Melissa, Maddie, Wyatt Claire, Haley, Craig, and Janie, Ann, and Addie, all making dinosaurs. You can barely see Wyatt Claire's {I mean Haley's} in the bottom left hand corner... but if we were giving out prizes, her dinosaur would have gotten 1st place {show off!!!}
here is the crew making jewelry boxes and treasure chest.
another shot of the dino making!
And some of the guest. Miss Addie.
Wyatt Claire eating her crown cookie
Braxton eating his dinosaur cookie
Miss Maddie, with the cutest smile.
Here is Clare, the Birthday girl {we did another combined party this year, which was great!}, and her big bro Austin. The girl who was helping us with the crafts assumed that Clare and Luke were twins! Ha! I love it! They could definitely pass as siblings, and they are only a day apart.
And the Lukester.
The party was a great success!

Saturday Surprise

So Haley calls on Saturday {the weather was in the 70's, completely ridiculous considering it is the middle of January} and ask if we would like a little photo session. And of course we never say no to a Haley photo session! Here are some of the great pictures she took! And since my camera batteries are dead, and I keep forgetting to get some at the store, I am also using these pics as Luke's 3rd birthday pictures {they were taken one week after his actual birthday} and Cole's 5 month picture {taken 3 days early}. It may be "cheating" but it works for me.

Thank you Haley, we enjoyed our surprise picture day!

Sweetest Thing Ever

Yep, that's it!

Chuck E. Cheese

We ask Luke what he wanted to do for his birthday, and he emphatically replied "CHUCK E. CHEESE!!!" Troy and I looked at each other as if he had just requested a kidney from each of us, but we got a babysitter to look after Cole, and off we went. Just Luke and Troy and I, something very special for the Lukester. I must say, he had a blast. I won't comment on how much fun {or lack there of} Troy and I had... Here is Luke riding Noah's ark.

Okay, so I sort of had fun. And beat Luke. Yes, I was keeping score.
Then Luke told me he could play by himself. Hmph.
And Dad appears to be having fun too...
Then, $40 later we were out of tokens, and overstimulated, so we left, and Luke wanted to know when he could come back. I replied that I thought that would be something very fun to do... with his grandparents. Either set. And I know you are reading this... so anytime guys :)

Luke is Three

I can't believe my first baby is three! Luke, you are such a special guy, and I love you so much! You fill our lives with joy and make us laugh every day. You are full of mischief, and I wouldn't have it any other way. You explore, and you are so curious about the world around you. And I have heard from more than one of your teachers that you are their favorite, and I know I am your momma, but I completely believe it, I mean, how could they not love you?

We love you so much, and can't wait to see you grow up, but don't do it too fast, okay? I already feel like these years have just flown by, and before I know it you will be asking us for a car. *Sigh. Deep breaths.
