Foat Wurth Stockshow

It's a cowtown tradition! So we told Luke about all the farm animals he would see, and off we went. Luke was very excited as we waited in line to get into the petting zoo...

He was very patient.

If your definition of patient is impatient...

He checked out the rides {for a later date}

But as soon as we got in, he wasn't quite sure what to think...

He was a little surprised by the Alpaca.

And needed some encouragement from mom when getting down.

But it didn't take long for him to get the hang of it.

I think his favorite were the ducks. He quacked, and followed them around.

And he liked the goat's too.

And no, I'm not trying to strangle my child. I was simply trying to wipe his runny nose. Did I mention he was sick all last week?

He even decided to take some pictures himself.

It was pretty darn cold outside, but Luke didn't seem to mind at all.
Stockshow 2011, a success!

hApPy BiRtHdAy TwO yOu!

We had Luke's birthday party on Sunday, and it the weather took a turn for the worse. It was freezing rain, and I was worried about people coming and going. I texted everyone not to get out in the weather, but obviously the cake, cookies and pizza were too good to pass up, so we had a few die hards show up, and I was so glad they did, we had a great time! Happy Birthday sweet Luke! Here is Luke with his awesome truck cake. He loved it!
He had a little help blowing out the candles, as he wanted to touch the flames...
but he really enjoyed having his cake and eating it too...
here are the die hards... Wyatt Claire and Clare
Miss Ava. Her mom, dad, and brother Max came too.
Wyatt Claire and Haley
And Cash! Cash's mom Jessica is quite the wonder woman. She is pregnant, was keeping another little girl Maddie all weekend {who slept during the party, she was one worn out little girl!} and Jess hosted a shower that ended 30 minutes before the party started, and with bad weather she still came. I'm impressed. I admit it.
Group shot!
The next morning Luke was still on a sugar and present high.
Happy Birthday Luke!

It's Good to be TWO!

Luke, I cannot believe you are TWO! Was it really two years ago we were in the hospital waiting to find out if you were a boy or girl? It seems like you have been with us forever, and we love you so much!!! You are such a character, full of life and energy. You talk more and more everyday, and usually start your day jumping in your crib asking, "Mommy, where are you?" I absolutely love hearing that little voice. You are such a joy, and I love watching you grow and learn new things daily.
He tried to grab the camera, hence the smudge...

And enjoyed his waffle breakfast on his new choo choo. Which incidentally, as soon as he figured out was battery operated, was his most unfavorite present. We put it away for a later date.

Happy Birthday Luke!

Happy Birthday Queenie!

A week of celebration! Queenie's birthday is a mere 3 days before Luke's, so we headed up to Ridglea Country Club to celebrate. Luke decided he really likes balloons. And had a lot of fun getting "bonked" on the head by Queenie.

As usual, he was goofing off.

The beautiful Birthday Girl!

Happy Birthday Mom
{Queenie}!
