Seven Years?!?

Has it really been seven years already? Seven years since we said "I do" in that little Bellagio wedding chapel surrounded by 100 of our closest friends and family? Yes, yes it has! Happy Anniversary T-roy! I love you so much and can't wait to see what the next many many years hold!
So we planned a nice evening out... a little dinner and a movie. We selected Water for Elephants, even though I was pretty sure it wasn't going to beat the book {which was darn good}. But, I felt extra prepared buying our tickets online as Troy and I are notoriously late {he blames me, I blame him...}. We ate our dinner at Gloria's, and everything was going smoothly. We arrived at the theater 15 minutes before show time... I had to go to the restroom, and ask Troy to wait on me. Well, lo and behold, two HUGE groups walked into the movie theater as I was in the restroom... leaving no two seats together. Just our luck! We decided to trade in our tickets for another day, and did something extremely romantic... went grocery shopping. I know, I know, we really know how to celebrate! It made me laugh though as I thought back to the days leading up to our wedding...

So we get to the airport, and I notice everyone has these paper things in their hands... what are they called? Oh, tickets. DANG IT. I realized I had left ours tacked to the fridge. Hmph. So we call Troy's dad, who had just dropped us off at the airport, to come pick us up. Upon returning to our house to pick them up, Leah, our cat, got out, and we had to go back to the airport. I cried the entire way there. {Our good friend Chris found Leah, and let her back inside, thanks Chris!} So, we get to the hotel, only to be told we had no reservation. I pulled out our confirmation codes {shockingly, I had those} and explained that we were getting married there, and we definitely had reservations. They look and look. Finally, they tell us to go ahead and take a limo to go get our marriage license and they will "work on it."

We go get said license and joke about Britney Spears being there a few days before us. We get our license and get back to the hotel, and alas, they have found our room... we get there only to discover they checked us into the wrong type of room. We call down to get the room changed, and finally, it all gets worked out and we are on our way to our new and improved room. Minus the marriage license. I call immediately and say I left it on the desk. It is no where to be found. True Story. All of our friends {who arrived hours before we did on the CORRECT flight} are drunk, and having a great time. I am crying again. We go back for license #2, and the lady jokes about us just being there. $120, and 2 license later, we are finally ready to be wed. The rest of the wedding went pretty smoothly... Sure, I was pretty much a wreck the entire day just waiting for something else to happen, and I didn't have to wait too long. As we are getting married, Troy breaks out into the worst sweat ever {he claims it was the lights, that he was NOT nervous, I will say it was very hot in there...} I take my handkerchief, and wipe him down. Everyone laughs. My mom walks down the aisle as we are exiting and breaks the heel of her shoe. We make it to the reception, and I have highlighted a list, what to play, what not to play... well, naturally, the DJ gets them confused, and right after my dad and I dance says, "And here is a special request from the bride!!!" DMX's "Up in herre" blares. I am not going to repost the lyrics here, but let's just say what he wants done to him by a cheerleader is not wedding reception appropriate. I promptly go to the bar and take 2 shots, and enjoyed dancing the rest of the night to songs like "Baby got back." Everyone claims it's "the best wedding ever."
My point is, it does not surprise me that T-roy and I missed our movie tonight, in fact, it's pretty much just perfect. We came home, played with Lukie, and talked about how we couldn't be more perfect for each other.

T-roy, I love you! Happy Anniversary!!!

Happy Easter

Easter Lute

Luke had a great Easter morning! He couldn't wait to put on his bunny ears and eat his Easter treat.
Here is his Easter basket {that we got last year from Ken and Marilyn, thanks guys}, filled with some new treats!
Luke's favorite Easter present {besides the chocolate} was a Scooby Doo doll, and a Scooby Doo T-shirt from grandma and grandpa! Picture coming soon.

Best Laid Plans...

Foiled.
We were planning on going to the Easter egg hunt at the Country Club, hunting for eggs, getting our picture made with the Easter Bunny, petting the animal's at the petting zoo, bouncing at the bounce house and riding a choo choo train, but then Luke woke up with pink eye. So this is how we spent our morning instead...

Safety Fair!

DeeDee invited us to a safety fair today. Despite a couple of meltdowns {could you expect anything less?} we had a great time! Luke got to check out a helicopter, a fire truck, and an ambulance, not to mention the bounce houses!
he had a lot of fun in the helicopter, as you can tell...
Originally, Luke refused to take his shoes off and was not allowed to jump. {Meltdown #1} but then he got in the game, and had a lot of fun!
Here he is exploring the fire truck. Again... no batteries in the camera. They are on the grocery list...
and unfortunately, Luke was allowed to drive the ambulance, and naturally, did not want anyone else to have a turn {Meltdown #2}. We left soon afterwards.
Thanks DeeDee for inviting us!

Meeting {more of} the Family

Troy's aunt and uncle from Virginia were in town, for the first time in 20 years! It was great to meet you Aunt Sandy and Uncle Wayne! Again... no batteries in the camera, so we had to take pictures with our phones. Thank goodness for the iphone!

Aunt Sandy, Uncle Wayne, CA & Buddy
Troy, Sandy, and CA took Luke to the park while I watched the Master's with the guys! Me, watching a sporting event... and golf no less. We all had a great time!
group shot!
It was great to meet y'all! Let's not make it 20 years before we see you again!

a view of the barn, ahem, shed
oooh, dirt
Securing the foundation...
the slab, and some plumbing.

Kate or Cole?

Like we did with Luke, we have decided not to find out if we are having a little boy or girl, although I must admit, it's a lot harder for me this time around! I am just dying to know! Here is our little nugget.
Any guesses? Will it be Kate or Cole?

Dinner with Friends

Troy, Luke, Christopher, and Jeff
The Smok's were in town, and we met them, along with the Grubbs at Uncle Julio's for dinner. We had a great time, and it was so good to catch up! I forgot the camera... Huge bummer! Dorothy sent this picture to us of our boys. Luke was making funny faces for the camera...

Meagan's Shower

Meagan's shower was Saturday, and I cannot tell you how great it was to see her and Mallory! Mallory was so cute, and as soon as we walked in the door started jumping up and down and saying "Uke! Uke!" quite possibly the cutest thing ever. Luke, on the other hand, clung to me for dear life. When he was finally able to get down, Mallory gave him several big hugs, and Meagan's sister Annie was able to snap this picture and Meagan sent it to me {I am having trouble re-sizing, hoping I can fix that}!

This is Meagan's sister Annie, who happened to be Luke's first crush. I think he was happy to see her, but these kiddo's were refusing to look at the camera!

Mallory and Luke had the most fun playing outside, hiding in the bushes...

and Mallory was trying to show Luke how to blow on dandelion's... Luke got the hang of it, but picked the wrong flower...

It was so good to see you guys, hopefully I can figure out how to re-size the pics and add a couple more good one's that Meagan took.
